I’m not sure what kind of DVD this is. Maybe some documentary about a wolf/dolphin hybrid?

From Ravenna Third Place Books…

We will be screening the third Wholphin DVD from McSweeney’s at Ravenna Third Place Books in early December, and we are looking for local, independent filmmakers to show their films as well. There will be a screening process — please send a DVD of your short film (under 20 minutes) to Ravenna Third Place Books Attn: Rachael 6504 20th Ave NE Seattle, WA 98115 Because of the venue, films must be appropriate for all ages and strictly adhere to the twenty minute maximum. Cult Celebrity Coming to Seattle

Posted under Film Screenings - Oct 18th, 06 - No Comments

In keeping with the theme of indie film news in the northwest, Northwest Film Forum lists that cult celebrity Crispin Glover will be coming to seattle in November.

November 3-8 at 8pm
CRISPIN GLOVER LIVE!
@ BROADWAY PERFORMANCE HALL
WHAT IS IT?
(Crispin Hellion Glover, USA, 2005, 35mm, 72 min.)
Sponsored by KEXP, Easy Street Records, Scarecrow Video and Linda’s Tavern
Northwest Film Forum is proud to present Crispin Hellion Glover’s (BACK TO THE FUTURE, WILLARD) long awaited WHAT IS IT? a unique, mythic, visionary film. It’s almost impossible to describe this labor of love. Glover spent nine years making an amazing piece of experimental cinema, acting as writer, director, producer, star and sole financier. If asked what the film is about, he would say, “It’s about the adventures of a young man whose principal interests are snails, salt, a pipe and how to get home. He’s tormented by a hubristic, racist inner psyche.” Most of the cast have Down Syndrome, and the acts in which they engage will have you squirming in your seats. Glover leaves no taboo untouched in this whirlpool of wild and weird images that may recall of Bunuel’s L’AGE D’OR or Jodorowsky’s HOLY MOUNTAIN.

“It’s like Fellini on psychedelics.” -SAN FRANCISCO EXAMINER

Now doesn’t that just make you want to go watch the show?
